Most drain calls we get are the second or third time that drain has blocked. That pattern is the useful information — it tells us the clog is a symptom rather than the problem.

We clear the immediate blockage, then work out why it formed. Kitchen lines are usually grease that has cooled and coated the pipe. Bathroom lines are hair bound with soap scum. When the symptom shows up in more than one fixture, or the lowest drain in the house backs up first, the cause is normally further down — a restricted branch, a bellied section, or root intrusion at a joint in an older clay or cast-iron lateral.

A camera inspection settles which of those you’re dealing with in a few minutes, and it changes the right answer completely: periodic maintenance cleaning, hydro jetting, a spot repair, or a lateral replacement. We’d rather show you the footage and let you decide than sell you the largest option.

Flat-rate quote approved before any work begins. Camera inspection included when we suspect a main-line issue.

Common questions

Why does the same drain keep clogging?
Because clearing a clog and removing what caused it are different jobs. Cable snaking punches an opening through the blockage; the grease or scale coating the pipe wall stays put and starts collecting debris again. If a drain has clogged twice, we camera it rather than clearing it a third time.
What's the difference between snaking and hydro jetting?
Snaking opens a channel through the blockage. Hydro jetting scours the pipe wall back to clean, which is why it lasts much longer. Jetting is the better tool on grease and scale, but only once a camera has confirmed the pipe is sound — on a cracked or fragile line it's the wrong choice.
Should I use chemical drain cleaner first?
We'd rather you didn't. It rarely removes the underlying buildup, it's hard on older metal drain lines, and it's still sitting in the pipe when we open the system. If you have used it, please tell us before we start — that's a safety matter.
Multiple drains are slow at once. Is that different?
Yes, and it matters. One slow fixture is usually a local clog. Two or more at the same time generally means the branch drain or the main sewer line is restricted, which is a different job with a different fix.

Recent plumbing work

Heat pump water heater with recirculation

Installed a Rheem heat pump water heater with an expansion tank and a recirculation pump, running dedicated hot, cold and recirculation lines to manufacturer spec. Hot water now reaches the far fixtures without the long wait a heat pump tank can otherwise introduce — and the household is ahead of the Bay Area zero-NOx replacement deadline rather than scrambling when the old tank failed.

Smart toilet installation

Smart toilet installation

Removed the old fixture, adjusted the rough-in and supply, and set and sealed the new unit — clean finish, no leaks.

Water heater replacement & repipe

Water heater replacement & repipe

Installed a new Bradford White tank, pressure-tested the system, and upgraded the supply piping. Stable pressure, reliable hot water, no leaks.
